My students are faced with many challenges. The number of kids with a 'normal' home life seems to be few and far between. Faced with poverty, single parents, no parents, drugs and gangs, making the right decision to stay in school (and to do well) is an everyday battle. Although the odds are against most of my students, they are the most caring and compassionate kids I have ever known. My students are my inspiration.
