A new carpet to sit on will enhance my students' learning space, add a more cozy feel to learning, and build a sense of community when learning in a large group setting. The rug chosen will allow my large group of students to sit together during our morning meeting and whole group instruction, and it will allow them their own personal space while sharing the rug with others. The stools will be used to support our small group reading groups within the classroom. Due to overcrowding in our classroom, the stools will help by using less space as the table. My students also come to the floor to participate in whole group reading, technology based lessons including the use of smart boards, and many other times throughout the day. This space will last for many, many years.
