On average, I have 30 students per class. Our district is in the process of becoming a "Google" district. In order to take advantage of all the opportunities Google has to offer, it would be very beneficial for my students to have these Chromebooks at their disposal. They will help with collaborating on assignments, researching for projects, exploring simulations and virtual labs, and creating presentations. Students will work in groups to explore and understand complex concepts in chemistry. Classroom technology will give us instant access to global sources of information. The best way for students to work collaboratively is through the use of technology. Science and technology go hand in hand, and I want my students to be college and career ready. Whether students go to college or enter into a career, they must be able to articulate their knowledge in a digital format. Having access to these Chromebooks will allow me the opportunity to teach my students how to use spreadsheets to analyze data and create graphs, use slides to present data, and collaborate data to write lab reports. These skills go well beyond science and into college and career readiness.
