My students attend an inner-city school with limited funds for classroom "extras". They are a wonderful bunch of 7th graders, who are motivated to learn if they can see how the concepts and skills apply to the real world. My students really enjoy science and I want to use that to help them improve their reading skills where many students are several grade levels behind.
