My students attend a school adjacent to a military base; therefore, many of my students have a military connection. This makes for a population of very diverse and unique learners who are motivated to participate in critical thinking skills and inquiry based learning. They require rigorous opportunities for in an enriched educational environment in order for them to be "out of the box" thinkers. They, combined with their civilian counterparts, help create an exceptional multicultural community of learners who stimulate one another. They require "rigorous, yet productive struggles" daily so they can "Collaborate, Compete and Succeed" on their journey to becoming 21st century global learners.
