I work in a high-need community that is 93% free or reduced lunch. I teach in a very urban area that serves a culturally diverse student body. Despite the diversity, most students are low income who come from challenging backgrounds. There are 21 third grade students in my general education classroom for most of the day and 27 third grade English Language Learners in my language arts class for a portion of the day. These students are eager to learn. I love going to school each day to work with such motivated and intelligent students!
