Music, and especially instrumental music is an important part of a well rounded education. All children should have the opportunity to participate in instrumental music. Our school is in a high-needs community and many students are on free or reduced lunch. The orchestra class is offered during the day, but we do not have enough supplies to meet the demand. There is no budget or allocation to purchase the equipment necessary to maintain a quality instrumental music program. Some of the instruments we do have are very old, with worn out strings, poor quality cases, or simply too big or too small for the students!

About my class
