I teach at an inner-city school in Arizona, where more than 85% of our students are on free/reduced lunch, meaning their families cannot afford to pay for a full lunch meal. 200 out of 900 students also came from a refugee camp, and many are living in single-room apartments with many family members crammed in. Many families cannot afford the basic supplies that are needed, and our limited school budget does not give room for an adequate amount of school supplies. Many teachers have to spend their own money on supplies just to get by, but we cannot afford everything!
