Math manipulatives allow students to connect math to real life. During independent and whole group work times they will be able to have math counters to bring their counting to life. Currently my students are using counters or uni-fix cubes to count with. Having more real life objects to count will bring their math to life. When we are subtracting ducks from the pond, having a real duck counter will engage the student even more in their math task. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional counting objects to connect their math to real world situations. The ants, buttons, beans, frogs, and other counters will be used to add, subtract, count and compare. These will be extremely beneficial for each student. Having a real object to connect to the story problem will bring our math to a whole other level. I have seen first hand the benefit of hands-on learning. These resources would be a much needed addition into our learning!
