I teach 10th grade English at a high-need, high-poverty public high school in an urban setting. Our school does a lot with a little; despite huge budget cuts and lay-offs, we have a nearly 100% graduation and college acceptance rate. The majority of our students are the first in their families to attend college. They have overcome what prove for so many to be insurmountable obstacles, and I will do everything in my power to ensure their continued success.

About my class
