I teach in an economically depressed area in central North Carolina. My school, like many in my area is underfunded and overcrowded. I teach in a "learning cottage" (read trailer). My students are bright and eager to learn, but often lack the resources at home that are found in more affluent communities. My classes are a mixture of at- and below-grade-level students.
