My students are going to be 4 years old when the school year begins. They will be taking part in year one of a two year kindergarten program. Most of them have not gone to preschool. Their parents both work. A majority of them will be part of the free lunch program. At least half of them will be English language learners. Our school is a neighborhood school. Most of the students live within walking distance. Their big brothers and sisters have attended the same school.
