My First Grade students are mostly second language learners, growing up in a very low social economical area with high poverty. They don't have access to technology outside of school. My kids are wonderful bright learners with so much potential, if only they get the materials to access and be successful in our technologically based society. Even though they don't have a lot of money, they still deserve to learn and be successful like all other children.
