My students need access to text that will both inspire them to read, and encourage them to be kind humans. They are faced with so many challenges and diversity; they need good examples of success and leadership. This text, Wonder, will guide them through making tough decisions and having compassion for all humans. My students would never have access to this text without Donors Choose. Our classrooms have very few class sets of novels and being able to read Wonder as a whole class allows the class to build fluency and have open honest conversations about the characters challenges and solutions.
