Being a School Counselor at an under-funded, under-performing high school in the South Valley, is both a blessing and a challenge. It is challenging to attempt to bridge the achievement gap between my students and their more affluent peers. When my students are merely struggling to survive, education, unfortunately, takes a back seat. Despite the major setbacks in life that they have had to encounter, they are committed to creating a better life for themselves, their families, their communities, and the world.

About my class

Being a School Counselor at an under-funded, under-performing high school in the South Valley, is both a blessing and a challenge.
