In my Special Day Class, I have 15 students with disabilities ranging from intellectually disabled to autistic students. I have many students who have occupational therapy, but because of budget costs we only see the therapist once a week for 30 minutes. In my eyes, my students are the cream of the crop! I taught general education for 12 years and 5 years ago decided to go back to school to get a special education credential. I kick myself for not doing it sooner. My special education students are not just special because of their disabilities, but because they are so unique. They love life to the fullest. They are the reason coming to work is so wonderful!
