Fewer than half of my students have Internet access at home and are unable to complete research projects, homework assignments, and textbook requirements. Unlike their peers, they have limited experience with technology and are entering the classroom at a distinct disadvantage. Having multiple Chromebooks in the classroom would "even the playing field" for minorities and provide all students the ability to become problem solvers and mini-engineers. Chromebooks would also provide frequent, reliable, and secure interaction with technology, helping students hone important skills and knowledge that pull from their interests which would in turn make lessons more engaging, memorable, and effective.
