I teach in a public high school that resembles most other high schools with one exception. My students. A high percentage of my students are on the free/reduced lunch program. Twenty-five percent of my students are couch-surfers and over fifty percent of my students come from single parent homes. Due to these 'distractions,' students often do not have the resources to purchase necessary technology that allows for their success in the classroom. The technology I'm referring to is graphing calculators.
