My fifth grade students live in the Central Valley in California. I have a very diverse classroom made up of students from divorce families, homeless, English learners, and students with special needs. There is one computer lab for 23 classrooms. My class is able to use the lab once a week for 40 minutes. During this time they are required to work on remedial skills, take Scholastic Reading Counts (comprehension) tests, word processing or PowerPoint programs, and research reports.
