Let us follow in the footsteps of one of our nation's leading companies, Google where employees sit on exercise balls and bean bag chairs, slide down slides, and make sure everything is comfortable in order to produce the happiest employees and and an elite work product. Let us create a classroom environment that is fun, comfortable and stress free to walk into everyday. My kindergarteners are an energetic and engaging group of 5 and 6 year-olds who love to get out of their chairs to move around the room, dance to music, and play bodily kinesthetic games at centers. For lack of better words...they NEED to be moving!! For public school students are only provided with basic furniture such as tables and chairs for student work areas. This year, using my own finances I bought a small carpet that 1 or 2 students can fit on in a corner of my room, and a lamp to add that relaxing feeling to the room without the bright fluorescent lights looming overhead.
