My students are high poverty and 70% of kindergarteners are English Language Learners. 24 different languages are represented at our school. Our parents struggle to make a living, many working more than one job to support their families. For some refugee families, school and education are a new experience. Class sizes are large at our school. Kindergarten classes had as many as 33 students this year, and teachers had no assistant to help them for most of the year.
