My students will be able to do research for their social studies and writing projects for themselves by using the Chromebooks to go online and complete the research. They will be able to go online and search for the topics and information they need in order to complete their projects. The students will be able to use such websites as Newsela and others for their research. Students will be able to access primary source documents for research and writing. I think it would be more meaningful and more beneficial for them to be able to do the research themselves. Currently, when they research hot topics, explorers, or Colonial America, I print out the research, and they read it. My students also love to listen to books online, but we currently don't have the availability for that to happen in our classroom. The students will be able to utilize Whispernet as well as RAZ kids, Epic Books, and other reading programs.
