I work at a public charter school in Oregon. We recognize that each of our students is unique: in their interests, learning styles, talents, and struggles. They have choices about the enrichments they take (dance, science, chess or sports are a few examples). The students I work with directly have disabilities: learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, or communication disorders. My job is to help them increase their skills in reading, writing, and math, while encouraging them to explore their interests and talents.
