I teach in a small, metropolitan community. My students are 6th graders, at a public middle school that houses grades 6 through 8. We have about 1200 students in our building, but our district has about 16,000 total students. We have a mix of students from diverse backgrounds. There are many different languages spoken in our building and many different cultures represented. About 40% of our students meet the requirement for the "free or reduced lunch" program. Our needs are great.
