My students are some of the best kids in the country. They are from a small, rural, economically disadvantaged town in Tennessee. Many are not exposed to cultural experiences outside of the classroom. Many do not have the means to experience the outside world. My 3rd graders want to learn and want to feel good about themselves. They want to experience success and they want to be able to speak intelligently about the world they live in!
