How many of you like to sit in a hard chair all day?? My students don't seem to care for that, so I want to give them flexible seating options. This will allow my students to make a choice of where they will learn and work best. Currently, my students spend the majority of class in those cold, hard seats, or on the cold, hard floor. Making sure students are comfortable is essential in motivating them. In addition, making smart choices is a trait that I want them to work on, therefore, choosing a place to work will hopefully keep them engaged and successful in completing class work. Think about where you feel more comfortable and productive. The products that I have selected will provide comfortable seating options to make effective learning choices. The wobble stools will allow students to sit at our small group table, where they can wiggle and learn. The Go Anywhere Teacher Chair can be used during Math & Science workstations while sitting on the floor working with a partner or independently. They are lightweight and can easily be used throughout the classroom. The inviting rugs will allow groups of students to work on planning and carrying out tasks crucial to being a team player. The power of choice can positively affect my students' attitude. It's sad that some things aren't an option while at school, choosing where to sit is an easy fix. I'm hoping the choice of seating can help them feel more comfortable and be more productive in their classroom.
