My students are a creative group of first graders who are excited about learning new things. They are not afraid to express themselves and seem to thirst for knowledge. They are like sponges when it comes to learning about something new. Most of them do not have the resources they need at home to assist in their education so I feel that it is important that they receive those things at school. I have always been a believer in the old African proverb..."It takes a village to raise a child."
