A group of high school students started using this area during lunch. The area was previously a dumping ground for books and backpacks for students in art and music. They found an old table with a very textured painting of a mushroom on it and it became their area. Then Tanner and his aids realized that the round table worked great for his wheelchair and a few students could join him for lunch. It's also a little quieter and calmer for Tanner just outside the sometimes chaotic lunchroom. The old table is wobbly and Tanner's special plate won't stick to the rough surface. The mushroom motif is not too classy and students would like this room to become a classy "art cafe". We want to paint the room, add backpack and coat hangers and even add an art display case before we're finished with this special area of our school.
