My kids have the privilege of spending 10 hours a day with me. With this unconventional extended school day my students become a very integral part of my life. I teach in an inner city charter school that targets under served families. This only means that their drive to work hard and dedicate their life to school is so much stronger. I see my students longer than their actual parents do during the school week which creates a very strong relationship for students and teachers helping me teach to the whole child.
