California's best and brightest! These children epitomize resilience. Through all the struggles, obstacles, and challenges put before them, they still continue to rise. At our school, our students carry the TORCH of Excellence: Talent, Organization, Respect, Character, and Hard work. They strive each day to make a better life for themselves and their families in the future. Our theme for the year is "Challenges," and our students will be studying challenges by examining heroes in literature, analyzing the media, holocaust, current issues, and even Shakespearean plays. Some of my kids are shy, some are very outgoing, but they all need love and they all need their time to shine. That's why I provide them with opportunities to succeed through various assessments throughout the year, such as: essays, projects, debates, plays, and a graphic novel.
