My Heavenly Second Graders are in a Title I school with wonderful community ties. The school is about 40 years old, but we keep it clean and tidy. It is in a close-knit community where many of the parents attended this same school and sat in the same classrooms. My students are sweet, yet tough. Their eyes are open wide as I read a story about Santa or Rudolph, but they worry deeply when a tooth falls out. I want them to feel pride as they work with their teams to research science or social studies projects. There are many golden gems to be found through the Internet or in texts and I want the resources to investigate this big, beautiful world!
