My students are from working class neighborhoods. Many of them are the first generation to obtain high school diplomas. They work full time after school and on weekends. It has been my pleasure to raise money to take them to see a Broadway show, which for almost all of them was a first. They are thriving in an environment where they feel safe, welcome, and where they know their education is an achievable goal.
