Less library time and little books in the home equal great reading challenges. My students need a better selection of books at their fingertips to develop their reading. I would love a classroom library of leveled books for my students to read in class as well as check out to read at home. My students are grateful, lovable, and eager learners. They love school and dread vacations! My school is located in a low socioeconomic area. The teachers at our school genuinely care about the students' well being. Most of our students are on free and reduced lunch. We have the help of our local Rotary club to donate jackets to our students in the wintertime. You can imagine the need for books in their lives! I often recommend to parents to take their kids to the public library but many of our students have overdue books and fines and are unable to check out new books.
