My students are a diverse group of 6 and 7 year old first graders in Northeast Georgia. There are 20 students in my class. My class serves both gifted students and EIP, or Early Intervention Program students that need extra support. My class also has children with disabilities that includes students in speech classes and with hearing disabilities. These public school kiddos enjoy reading and writing and participate in activities including Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Our school is new, this is just our third year in the building. As a new school, we are low on funds for extra materials. The economy has effected our families and funds to support students are in short supply. Even in these tough times, our dedicated hard working families support us as best they can. Students never see a shortage because their needs come first. Teaching and learning come first at White Oak.
