I teach an enthusiastic and motivated class of 5th grade students in California. The classroom is made of students with diverse cultural backgrounds, mixed ability levels, and different learning needs. My students have a wide range of academic and social abilities, but art and technology are two areas that spark interest in the majority of students. Once students have an interest in learning they become self motivated to do their best. Art is a safe subject for many students where they can get lost in the activity and explore their creative side regardless of their abilities. Technology is the avenue through which our student's generation is experiencing the world and it is a part of their daily life. Taking these two areas and blending lessons with them helps to develop the curiosity that Clay Bedford spoke of in the above mentioned quote and through the Disneyland's CREATE grant I can make this possible
