I teach fifth grade at a dance themed charter school. My students are very eager to learn about historical fiction. As part of our curriculum we are learning about US history, and what better way to teach them, then to have them all read about a girl near their age during this time. My class is an eager group of avid readers who are sponges. Any book we read together as a class they want to read more books from that author on their own. They enjoy reading and read at least 30 minutes daily. I can't wait to teach them about Charlotte and her experiences on the ship.
