I am very fortunate to be teaching at the school I do. The entire faculty, staff, and student population is great. Our school is situated in a rather low-income neighborhood where families struggle just to survive. The students that come from these homes should have the same opportunities as any other. We are a Title 1 school—we receive funds from the government to assist us. The money is used for everything from student workbooks to computers. This assistance helps us ensure that our students are given every available resource when it comes to their education. We have a very diverse student population. The majority of our student are Hispanic, but we also have a large Armenian population. In addition, our students come from Asia, Africa, as well as the Americas. This diversity really allows us to appreciate the many different cultures and languages that surround us.
