I teach art to middle school students in an inner city school district. When I first started working in this district, the classroom that I was given had many safety hazards, such as, 30 year old tables, art projects on the floor from years past; even no rulers. With the help of my principal I was able to get the classroom new tables, and bring the room back to a safe working environment. Now this year my goal, among many things, is to get a classroom library going for the children. It would serve as a great resource for them to investigate some of the worlds great artists, and help encourage them to be in charge of their own art making.

About my class
