I teach kindergarten ESL and 2nd - 5th grade robotics and engineering in an inclusion setting at a Title 1 IB (International Baccalaureate) elementary school in a high immigrant population community in Northwest D.C. Our school is home to over 40% English Language Learners. My co-teachers and I use hands-on lessons to engage their critical thinking through inquiry activities and projects. My students are enthusiastic and love learning through various field trips, expert guest speakers, RTI interventions, projects, language immersion, centers, performances, maker spaces, blended learning, and making connections to the world around them. I am constantly learning from them as well.
