Kindergarteners in my room call themselves "Super Star Learners", and they are! They work hard at their job, which is learning. There are 24 active learners in our classroom. Over half of the students qualify for the free lunch program. Four of my students qualify as students with special needs. Six of my students have no computer at home. We have a great racially diverse classroom. Our school is in California. It is small compared to many others around us, but we believe it allows us to build a real sense of community. We have 3 Special Education classrooms and those students are involved in every part of our school activities. We love our "special kids." We have a garden area at our school and the students grow food and eat what we grow. They are also able to see the life cycle of the monarch butterfly close up in the garden. Though our school does not have that many resources we have used what we have to the best of our ability.
