Day to day teaching is more than reading, writing and arithmetic. Quality teachers must and should include a sense of personal ownership in what is being learned. I teach 8th grade Physical Science to 165 students. I teach 13 and 14 year old students about chemical reactions, the force of gravity, and the birth and death of the stars. However, as a 15 year veteran, I know there is an urgent need to give my kids more. They must learn and understand the importance of their daily decisions. They must apply these lessons to situations outside of our school setting. I feel that the projects I request will enhance the life-long learning of all my students and for generations to come. I thank you in advance for your care and concern for our students.
