I am writing this project request on behalf of Sun Valley Magnet School. We are so excited to announce that this is our 2nd year of high school. We are also pleased to announce that the school will have its first ever girls softball team. Our team consists of only 9 & 10th grade female students. The goals of the team are to empower students, to develop good merits, behavior, positive self-image, confidence, commitment, and to create future leaders. For many of the girls, this will be the first time they have ever played any recreational sports and we want to make this a memorable and lasting experience for them. In order for our team to succeed, we need equipment. But, our school does not have adequate funding to provide the basic equipment needed when starting a team. The lack of financial support, non-existent resources, and equipment shortage are what stands in our way from accomplishing our goals this year. Any donation to this DonorsChoose project will go directly to the purchase of much needed equipment.
