My students are from a Title I school, consisting primarily of second language learners from disadvantaged homes. The students I teach often do not have books at home and are not read to often. My students love to be read to. In the classroom, my students cannot get enough stories read to them each day. So when I am working with other small groups, they flock to the listening station. They are in love with the old, out-dated listening center that we have. Lately, they have been disappointed when the headphones have not been working.
