Who are my students? They are my inspiration and they are my superstars, even if they don't see it yet! My 5th graders are children who are at that awesome age of discovering independence and becoming young adults. The population at our school is a rough one. We are at a 95% poverty level with kids who come from very little. School is where they shine and where many of them would rather be. They know that when they walk through our doors, they will be accepted and are surrounded by people who believe in their abilities. They aren't just another mouth to feed or another child to take care of, they are the future. We carry this attitude as a school and it reflects in our kids' attitudes as learners.
