I teach pre-kinder. They come in to school as little babies. Three years old. For some, the first time they have ever left their parents' side. For most people, the first memories they will retain for the rest of their lives. They are a school of babies wide eyed and excited to come to school. We are a high poverty school. Fortunately, most of my students do not know this. They just know that this is school. I try to keep these children excited about school. I have many activities planned for them throughout the year. I strive to make this a very memorable year, and hope to have my students love school. An end of year memories book will give my students the opportunity to always look back at why they love school.
