My class is in a public school in the state of Maryland. Even though the school is no longer a Title I school, it is still made up of low income families. My class consists of a very diverse group of 16 students. Besides being diverse in ethnics and races, my students learning is very differentiated. Every year, my students' abilities range. Every year, I have some students who begin the school year on a second grade reading level, as well as some students who are struggling reading on a kindergarten level. A majority of my students need a lot of exposure to fluent readers.
