These Chromebooks are necessary for my students to practice keyboarding skills. They will allow my students to practice keyboarding daily in my class. This practice is essential in the students learning to type accurately. As it is now, we go to the computer lab once a week to practice. If they are unable to type they cannot respond to the questions. It is essential that they learn to type well by the end of the year. Typing is crucial for my students to learn, as this is the first year that they will be tested on computers. The chrome books will also be utilized for testing in reading. We are a part of the Accelerated Reading program. In it the students read a book at their independent reading level. Then they are able to take a quiz on that book. The students are dramatically increasing their reading levels using this program. Having the Chromebooks in class will enable the students to take a quiz the day that they finish reading the book instead of waiting to go to the computer lab the following week.
