My students live in an area where they are faced with challenges every day. They are a group of respectful and responsible students eager to learn. They are visual and auditory learners. They want to see more. They want to hear more. It is a group that requires a lot of support. My students enjoy learning from each other. We work in collaborative groups to make observations and discoveries. They are always actively engaged when working in groups. My students are also second-language learners. They attend a Title 1/Program Improvement school and they all qualify for the free lunch program. Several of my students live in government housing. They don't get enough opportunities to support their learning due to their limited resources and insufficient school funding.
