My students use technology every day, but they have very limited exposure to how software is created. I want to teach them how to create games using Javascript and specifically the Phaser library. We have already played around on the Phaser sandbox. To delve in deeply we need access to computers with more versatility than a Chromebook. These Raspberry Pi 4 machines will allow my students to jump right into programming. This "Game Dev" club will meet after school and will be open to students from all grade levels. My dream is that this club will reify students' mathematical knowledge and demonstrate the real-world applicability of mathematics and logical thinking.
