Our students engage in house chore play to learn social, language and fine motor skills in addition to taking turns and following simple directions. Playing in a kitchen in particular allows them to mimic what they see at home and further explore this daily activity. The play house furniture will allow the students to use a childhood sized oven, refrigerator and sink. Students using realistic play house equipment will allow the students to feel like they are making real food. Students learn best by playing. This kitchen will allow students to learn how to play, clean up, match pairs or even count out how many people will “eat.”
